Time seems to move much too quickly.
Where has the time gone? It seems like Aaron and I got married such a short time ago. Now we own a house, and have seven children here, and three we won’t meet until we get to heaven. We have seen many things that we prayed for together become reality. We’ve owned a successful business, and been the pastor family to three churches. We have helped many people, and unfortunately hurt a few as well. There have been a lot of mistakes made, but with each one we have learned and grown so much. No matter what we are doing, or where we are in this journey of life, time seems to move much too quickly.
Through it all God has always been right there with us, ready to pick us back up when we fall, and cheer us on when we are going strong. He is our constant, our rock, and our strong tower (Proverbs 18:10). “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.” II Samuel 22:31
We have already celebrated five birthdays
It seems as though this year has only just begun, however it is already half over. We have already celebrated five birthdays in our home so far this year. Only four more to go. We have little Mary turning 3 in September, baby Simon turns 1 in October, Noah will be 15 in November, and Aaron will be 39 in November as well. It seems like Simon was just born, but he will be a whole year old in 5 short months.
Saturday we celebrated Elisha’s ninth birthday! It is crazy how fast it happened! He was born yesterday you know. We waited so long for him. He was two weeks past due, and I was in labor with him for three days, before going to the hospital to finally have him eight hours later. His head was quite large, and his shoulders were broader than any baby I had ever seen. I could not believe this big ole boy came out of me. With no rips or tears at all on top of it. This seems like such a short time ago. Where did nine whole years go?
He’s accomplished so much in nine short years
Even though to me it seems like yesterday we were bringing him home to start his journey, it has been nine years. He has accomplished a lot in nine short years of life. He did two years of Jiu-Jitsu and won many medals at Jiu-Jitsu Fujis, has made it to the third grade, and become quite good at playing the mandolin. The heart he has for the Lord, and leading others to Christ is amazing and wonderful to see at such a young age.
He has been a born again christian for two and a half years now, and ever since he accepted the Lord as his personal savior he has been praying for, and talking to others about their need of a savior. Two of his friends have come to know Christ as their savior as a result of Elisha’s heart for the Lord. He is a prayer warrior. I am so blessed to be his mother. Did I mention that he also has the most sensitive and sweet spirit about him? I can see him doing great things for the Lord in his life. I pray this for all of my children, and can see different things in each of them that can be great tools in their service of the Lord.
